My First Missed Day

Gorgeous Sunday
I live across the street from a high school.  I live in a small town of about 5,000 people so one would think it would be relatively quiet.  I'm sorry, but that thought is so very wrong.  Never have I seen a high school have so many activities!
When there is an activity, people park along the streets and since we have a corner house lot that means they park all along the fence next to my 5th Wheel.  They slam doors not once, but at least 4 times followed by repeated fob clicks to ensure the vehicle is locked.  Someone forgets something and the fob is clicked again, doors are slammed 4 more times, loud talking, fob clicking, activating car alarm on accident, fob clicking and then they disappear into the school.

The reason I bring this up is  after having such an entertaining Saturday I was up late trying to stitch.  I gave up around midnight and went to bed.  7:00 am on a SUNDAY rolls around and people are massing at the high school. 7:00 in the morning on a SUNDAY.  WHY???  I could look at the school activities calendar and figure it out, but why bother?  It's not going to stop the hordes from making their cars honk and their doors not slam.

Up I get, cup of tea in hand and into the comfy chair with my fluffy blanket and for no reason other than it was 7:00 am on SUNDAY,  ended up watching YouTube videos.  Apparently, I watched those videos until 11:00 am  my son came out to advise me "it is time" to go get the tires on the car.

Since I have watched a few YouTube videos in the past, I learned that when you watch alot of YouTube videos your IQ goes down.  The internet folks! haha!  I certainly felt slower of mind when I got out of my comfy chair and put my shoes on.  It could have been that not one normal morning chore was completed thereby setting myself up for slow thinking and a lackadaisical attitude about getting anything done. Now we were off to get tires.

First WalMart...packed, phone call to second WalMart....packed.....other tire dealers...closed and/or packed.  We quickly found out that on Sunday, everyone figures it 's a good time to get tires.  Call all your family and friends so they too can join you and don't forget to let your neighbors know.  I mean, safety first, right?  Everyone should have new tires.

We went to have breakfast instead.  I was so happy to go to the Epic Egg because there is a really nice girl who works there that I wanted my son to set eyes on.  He set his eyes on her and agreed I had chosen wisely, but he's seeing someone presently.  She also has the coolest name ever....Paisley.  Tell me that name alone doesn't make you want to just have her in your life somehow?

Sexy tread!!
Another phone call to a WalMart in Loveland and they state they had three empty bays.  NO WAY!! One hour later, we arrive to find 5 cars in front of us.  We had to eat breakfast!  I mean we had already ordered before the call was made so we couldn't just leave Paisley!  It was fine, we had things to do in the store and I had my list of stuff for my brother that needed looking into.

Shopping done, time has passed, tires on and homeward bound!  What a difference new tires make on a car!  My son also noticed the brakes need some attention (another fun bit of information I had shared with him about a year ago) and we both agreed we can take care of the brakes after his vacation.  We do the brakes ourselves so that's just a couple hours of time that needs to be ripped out of my son's life ha,ha.  I laugh because if he can avoid adulting he will.  I tries so hard! Gently, I nudge and wait, nudge again and eventually something happens.  He's so wonderful.

When I got home (around 4:00 pm) my brother called.  We were on the phone for 8 hours because we were playing that darned "WORDS" and having a great time.  Did I mention I love my family?

Blogger won't let me edit today so I apologize for grammatical errors!

Until next time.....KEEP ON STITCHIN'!

  1. Well, it certainly depends on the kind of Youtube videos you watch! For example, I never once felt my IQ slip watching your flosstube.
Also, I fully agree with your son - adulting is dangerous business that is to be avoided at all times if possible! Haha.
