I'm not entirely sure how many people reach a breaking point with life in general, but recently I had reached mine. Someday I will be able to stop and ask "What is the one issue that is blocking me from my goal?" and then fix it. As usual, I didn't stop to ask or even consider there was a blockage. After months of everything piling up, however, my head exploded and now everything is fine.....and it's quiet now.
With that quiet came the answer and the ability to ask the right questions to get the right answers to remove the blockage and I cannot tell you how much joy this has put into my life at present. Now we shall move forward as planned!
During the Tumultuous Period, I did manage to finish Frosted Pumpkin's Spooky Halloween around the time we had planned to be finished and it IS adorable!
When I finished I remembered I had this frame and did the framing right then and there. I do have to pat myself on the head for the perfect frame job...it almost looks professional!
I'm thinking Leonore and I should do this again next year....must dig through patterns. I DO have something fun, I know I do! Maybe Lizzie Kate? Or maybe the Stoney Creek Pattern of the Month? Primitive Hare?
Nancy finished hers and added some Nancy touches to it which I LOVE. As I always say, it's okay to stitch the same pattern, but when you do it YOUR way, it becomes yours and no one else can replicate it.
October TUSAL |
Let's throw in some October and November TUSAL since we are here today! One of my top favorite SALs which really isn't a SAL, but what the heck...it's all in good fun!
November TUSAL |
October was full of great ORTs from the Halloween SAL and November is decidedly lacking due to the Tumultuous Period, not much stitching happened...oh wait..NO stitching happened...but I digress and stuff.
During the Tumultuous Period, I did head on over to the Office Max with my carefully researched and measured desk ideas...three were chosen as I know from past experience here in Juneau that if you set your heart on ONE thing, chances are that ONE thing will be out of stock and never seen again. So I chose three. The number one pick, well let's just say I cannot possibly have my PC and all other desky stuff sitting on a corner piece as that is the only part of the first choice they had.
Choice number two was a WIN. I ended up paying half of what I had planned on paying and found a really lovely printer as well. Went to the other store and picked up a nice end table to put the printer on and TAH DAH!
Can you believe I am now using my sewing table for my sewing machine?? It's a miracle!
Finally, after the Big Bang which ended the Tumultuous Period, I wandered into the ol' NCC, newly upgraded, and sat down to stitch. I hadn't stitched since I finished Spooky Halloween and didn't really want to pick up anything major but started on the Stitching Pirate's Speed Stitch Competition. Did a bit of that but my heart wasn't in it...I know, weird, right?
So I grabbed up my Ornament of the Month from August that I hadn't finished and went nuts stitching those!
I'm now stitching up the November ornaments which are both lovely and one even has a challenging backstitch to it...yes, more challenging than say, August or September back stitching, or even July's! It will be fun and I'm really looking forward to it. December has three ornaments which I have been told are having some pattern creation happening as we speak.
So much goodness! It seems I could go on all day, but I'll end this for now and hope everyone is safe, healthy and happy.
Until next time.....Keep on Stitchin'!
I'm glad everything worked itself out and you got some stitching done. Congrats on the finish it's lovely and I love the frame!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm pretty pleased with the outcome to everything so far and I agree that the frame is lovely. It will be sad to put all my Halloween stuff away but that won't happen until after Thanksgiving hahaha
DeleteI'm glad to have you back to stitching, Carla...I've missed your updates and the crazy berserk episodes! And I really hope you'll have a few quiet months with lots of stitching and no drama or tumult or other bad stuff. I love your new desk setup, and the ornaments of course, I can't wait to get back to stitching those myself!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It seems things have calmed down a bit and I'm so very grateful! Was a little worried when I really didn't feel like stitching but luckily that has passed :D
