September D.E.S.I.G.N. Lizzie Kate

For just one moment I couldn't think of anyone, and then turned around and spied one of my "downstairs" stitching projects "Unseen Things" by Lizzie Kate.

I have seen many of my friendly stitchers dive right into one of these patterns as soon as they had their hands on a pattern.  They are adorable and I thought "why not get one and try it out?"

Having never stitched one before, and giving it some thought and loving what Leonore had stitched so far on hers, I figured I'd start with a safe bet for cuteness and chose the Unseen Things.

Now that I have spent some time giggling over the Lizzie Kate Blog, getting to know the designer, Linda Ebright, and her wonderfully personal way she puts her things together and find that I truly appreciate her efforts.  So much so that I have plans of purchasing more of her patterns with all the goodies in the future.

Like I said, I chose the Lizzie Kate pattern for this month's D.E.S.I.G.N. because I'm currently working on it and THANKFULLY had it within range of seeing it.  I'm sure I would have thought of it eventually, but I like that I spotted it now.

What makes Lizzie Kate patterns so very attractive to me (aside from the personal touch Linda adds to it) is the FUN.  Letters are different, threads are different, the little packet of embellishments that is specifically geared for this one little project....the extra little patterns that come with each pattern you pick up, the wonderful directions that come with each pattern....AND finally because I'm entering into a new phase of stitching sampler-type things now.

This farm girl has gone from stitching farm scenes to fantasy to EVERYTHING, and samplers is the next wave of awesome on the long list of genres to choose from.

These patterns and all of their parts may be a little spendy at times, but kitting one up over time...the anticipation of starting just makes it so much more delicious when that needle slides through the fabric for the first time.  Yes, I giggled when I began stitching this one...just ask Carrie who was by my side stitching when it happened!

If you are unsure about whether or not you'd like one of the Lizzie Kate patterns, how about trying one of her freebies?  Lizzie Kate Free Patterns

Until next time.....Keep on Stitchin'

  1. I like some of the Lizzie Kate patterns but haven't stitched one yet. They are a little pricey just for the pattern so they'll have to wait a bit.

    1. I have to admit that may have been why I stayed away at first, but when I started noticing others stitching the patterns and I REALLY LIKED what they were stitching I figured I'd go for one and then see :D I did get one bit of it at a time so it wasn't all in one horridly expensive go :D

    1. That is a good idea. I always approve of pattern fasting. Besides, between me and Leonore we each have Lizzie Kate and if you really wanted to try there are freebies that are cuteness all by themselves. I will be passing the pattern once I"m done...so if you are interested then let me know :D

  3. Nice choice for the SAL this month. I've stitched a few L*K charts and they have all been gifted to me. They do make ideal charts and travelling patterns.

    1. I love it! Easy enough to have downstairs and I can put it back in the bag when I'm done and not worry about Lady Door doing horrible things to it ha ha :D

    1. That flower is ADORABLE and so easy. I was worried it was some fancy stitch but it's just straight stitching haha!

  5. I've been curious about this pattern for a long while. So many stores have been advertising it but no one has shown anything of the pattern. I hope you keep posting about it.
