I'm still in shock it's April already! So far it's been fantastic: New job started, first BOF completed and for an extra added bonus, I witnessed the short but sweet lunar eclipse which was a complete blood moon...super groovy!

WIPocalypse for April has the question: Which specialty stitches do you love doing on projects? Which do you dread?
Since I have yet to do very many, I have found learning a new stitch to be quite enjoyable, I will just say I love what I've don't so far. There is a mix of fear and excitement when a new stitch is introduced, but the end result (good or bad) is all part of the learning experience. It's stitching, how can you be upset about it? I used to dread French Knots, but after doing the Joys of My Garden Series in 2013, it's not so bad. I will replace French Knots with beads any chance I get, but for the most part, they no longer worry me.
I have posted my April Goals List on the right side-bar, but here they are again as all but two are WIPs:

Yesterday the April Ornament of the Month was available on the NCCIH and that isn't on the list but will be finished right after I finish the February bookmark. I'm about halfway there right now so I'm thinking this weekend could see three finishes!

Yay, I found you again! I'm referring to the fact I missed you moving your blog. It was an awful feeling. Lovely blood moon picture. Question: Do you always replace french knots with beads?

I've lost a few but so far everyone has managed to find me after reading other blogs that talk about it <3 I don't always replace French Knots with beads, I prefer to do so to get a more hard textured difference to a piece depending on what it is. I like shiny and sometimes I feel the French Knots get lost in the stitching or look clumpy even if I know I've done them correctly.

ReplyDeleteI wanted to get Michael's camera but he was sleeping and THAT would have produced a nicer shot. I'm glad I saw it happen though, it was creepy but fascinating :D

ReplyDeleteThank you! The only part of that list that might not be "realistic" are the 12 Days of Christmas which now needs a Day 2 finish and Day 3 and Day 4 start and finish. The rest are easy enough :D
