Greetings Earthlings! Was February quite a month for you? It certainly was here at the NCC (Juneau Branch). Quite a bit happening, but most of it was not stitching. My "goals" list for February was a pretty nice list of 10 items which was lofty, yet attainable. And yet, there were only two projects finished. I am very okay with that. The distractions that kept me from my stitchy goals were EXCELLENT distractions and needed to be addressed.
If you read the Nesting in the NCC blog then you already know I have spent a good amount of time in February DIGGING and organizing. First it was the beads, then there was kitting, then it was the floss and then more kitting and organizing the floss, re-kitting, and as the girls call it "bobbinating". (Not a real word until now!) I'm still in the process of bobbinating my flosses...I have many and did not know until the "dig" happened.

Okay, so the February List had ten items, and my goal this year was to stitch particular items every month. I did finish two out of ten from the February List, but only one of those two were part of that monthly stitch thing. What I DID do is pretty neato...I stitched on ACE and Quaker Ornament Side B.
So all was not lost as they are both on the list and I did not start something not list related. Make sense?
Now that we are in March, it's time for a new list...I'm loving the new month/new list thing...it kind of makes me happy.
March List:
1: Finish Day 2
2: Start and Finish Day 3
3: Start and Finish February Bookmark
4: Start and Finish March Bookmark
5: Finish Quaker Ornament Side B
6: March Ornament
7: Finish Skeleton Crew
8: Yellow Butterfly Biscornu
I like ending at the number 8, it IS the number of the universe after all :-D

But I just think that Life is too short to bobbinate!

Deletehahaha! Prachett is YES, ACE is going to be super purty with beads and I cannot wait to finish it and the Quaker ornament is not what I envisioned but I'm kind of liking it just the same :D
DeleteBobbinating is good for me. It helped me see what I had! I'm finally finished so now I can get back to stitching :D
Yay for organising and finding all that floss! Once all the bobbinating has been done you will only have to do the new stuff - much faster! Good work!
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo! Well the next phase is when I refill a color that is out, I will use the new sticker tabbed bobbin and eventually all of the bobbins will be done :D

So much floss, I always think I have a lot, then I see other people's stashes. You've been so busy, and seem to be so happy with the attainable, but not pressured list.

ReplyDeleteI do love seeing the vids/pictures of people who have adapted drills to do it quickly, though! (it appeals to the power-tool-girl in me).
And it looks like you don't have too much to bobbin, so you've got this! :)
You will be happy to know that it is finished! The main four boxes of the regular DMC need some love but all of those specialty threads are done and safely tucked away. Pictures to come!
DeleteI thought 7 was the magic number? I don't envy you the bobbinating. I did mine last summer and it took forever.
ReplyDeleteIt seemed like it did take forever! I finished last night and am very proud of myself for getting it all done finally. Now...stitching will happen!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that's a lot of floss there. Am I the only one who likes "bobbinating"? There's something soothing about it that I enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI like it and agree it's soothing, but with Lady Door it has become a challenge :D It's not quite over yet, but the lion's share of floss has been done and I am supremely happy with the end result!
DeleteYOu really tackled a massive spring cleaning project there, I'm so happy to see you (almost) done and hope there will be much more stitching pictures for March now! Not that I don't enjoy looking at stash pictures too...
