Fuzzy Blankets Shouldn't Try to Choke a Kid

Day before yesterday my co-worker was telling me about her grandson's blanket.  The binding was coming off and while he slept the thread and the binding would wrap themselves around his neck.

When she told me about this issue I kind of was rude and demanded to have that blanket right now so it could be fixed.  She doesn't sew and "doesn't have time to sew it by hand"....which she also added "not good at that either".  It's alright, Ma is here to fix the wrongness!

She brought me the blanket today and I have to say I'm surprised nothing serious happened to that poor boy yet!

I cut that obnoxious amount of thread off of the end...it was really long and thick too. The binding was off of one entire side of the blanket, giving it ample opportunity to strangle a sweet, sleeping boy.

Unacceptable!  All binding should be securely attached at all times!

Jammed through this in less than 10 minutes and now we have a safe, fluffy, adorable blanket.  Free of danger and ready to be given back to my co-worker's grandson.

It really is a nice blanket.  Now that this emergency sewing is complete, let's see if I can finish the last box on my current cross stitch project so it can be done and I can get back on my 19 hour rotation!

It seems like I took the last two weeks off!  I know I didn't because I have stitched a teeny bit every day.

I hope you do something nice for yourself or someone else today.  If you missed out on today, do it tomorrow!

Until next time.....KEEP ON STITCHIN'!

  1. Yay! Good job on keeping your co-workers grandson safe! Could it perhaps be that you are not feeling the project you are working on? You seem to do so much more when you are enjoying it - even now when you are not 100%.

  2. Very cool. That's so nice of you. I think I'm going to get my new sewing machine out today. I'm terrified. We'll see.

  3. That is so nice that you fix the little blanket. It’s good to have good friends.

  4. Now I imagine you as the rude sewing-godmother-fairy, just flying around and fixing people's sewing-emergencies without asking, haha :D I also have to agree with Magical, it sounds like you fell out of love with your current project a little bit - is it all the confetti? Can you split that up somehow?
