WIPocalypse February

Ah, February's WIPocalypse.  I love the question and have read some entertaining answers.  I'm not sure how fun mine will be but here goes:

How do you overcome that feeling that you’re in a rut with a particular project?

Sometimes I set it aside and do something else, and sometimes I power through to the end with the cheering of my lovely girls!

Speaking of WIPs....There is Celtic Goddess.  I desperately want to finish her.  Yet she languishes year after year.  I'm not sure how I managed to get so much done the beginning of last year, but it happened and I'm hopeful it can happen again this year....but with a finish.  Ever hopeful am I.

Day 2 is progressing nicely and I'm proud to say I figured out why I had mistakes on the holly from Day 1....I can't read a pattern properly that's why! Luckily for me, Hamish was expounding on "noticing a small pink thread" and when I looked at the pattern I said "OH!" and promptly corrected my mistake that could have been really bad later on. No one likes to rip 1 over 1 on a fragile linen!

So dainty!  For some reason there is only one turtle dove for Day 2 instead of 2, but that is alright.  It will still look amazing when it's finished.

Because I like to fall down stairways and then fall up, this week has been slow for stitching.  Don't worry, as far as I can tell nothing really bad happened, but now I am far more aware of stairs than a person really needs to be.  Someday I hope to walk properly and take stairs like a normal person!

Stay tuned for the TW Interviews!  I have many volunteers this time around and should be able to have one per week for many weeks to come!

Until next time...Keep On Stitchin'

  1. Bad stairs, you'll just have to show them who's boss. Now rest your back so that when you are ready to stitch again, you'll be able to enjoy it with a minimum of pain

    1. Sadly, my entire house has stairs...stairs to the front door, stairs down to the washer and dryer, stairs to the attic where the bedroom and NCC are located...sadly the stairs to the laundry are not carpeted so the landing was not graceful and did not feel like fluffy clouds. There is this evil last step I always forget about...wonder if I can remove it?

  3. I agree with Claire - what were you doing on those stairs anyway, you can stitch there!

  5. I keep a death grip on the railing as I go up/down my parents basement stairs. I like to wear my slippers when I come over to visit. We live next to each other. As for 12 days - looking good!!! I have a list of errata on my webpage if you want to take a look. guideto.html

    1. darn the stairs! If they weren't made for tiny feet I might have a chance!

Now, let's discuss the guideto...VERY awesome...if it's alright with you I would like to have that "out there" on my next TW blog posting...the other girls (and guys) will LOVE it!

  6. Day 2 is off to a great start!

I thought I was the only one who fell up stairs. I do it periodically just to prove to Gravity that she isn't the hot-stuff she thinks she is.
My dog, on the other hand, occasionally tries to assassinate me by stairs. She always runs down the stairs in front of me, and every once in a while just stops. As tall and big (70lbs) as she is, this creates major problems. On the other hand, the one time my OH's Boston Terrier tried assassination by stairwell, she discovered that physics works against her and got punted down a couple of stairs (she no longer runs in front of me ;) )

    1. Aren't dogs supposed to be the self appointed Gravity Police? Or is that cats? In your case it IS dogs! This is why it is safer for us to be sitting inert for hours stitching and now attempting feats against the gravitational pull!!

    2. I like it! The next time I get any flack over stitching for two long, I'll just mention that I"m not breaking any legs or back bones, so it's all done in the name of safety!
