There I was, happily stitching along when I realized that the pattern and my stitching were not right. I seemed to be one row off. I checked my recent stitching. Everything was okay. Then I went row by row up the tree on the left side and halfway up found that I had missed a row!! EEK!! is right.
It took me two hours to rip out the headstone and bottom portion of the tree. Usually I am a little angry, but this really is a fun project and as I said in the last segment...I kind of don't want it to end.
Missed rows aside, tonight I will remake the tree and headstone quickly and get back to where I was.
The ripping and re-stitching will hinder the count on skeins, however. I'm still doubting the use of 11, and as usual all I can say to that is "we shall see".
The urge to make that list of things to get done before the end of the year is strong, but I WON'T do it!! NO!!
No matter how much I want to blab on and on about Celtic Goddess, Derpy Dice Bag, Nouveau Biscornu, a couple tablecloths, the binding on Peter Pumpkin and the quilted bell pull for the Botanical Fruit Series....I won't make a list! I just won't!
Okay, that's out of my system so now I'll get busy remaking the tree and headstone.....
Until next time.....
I hate ripping out, had to do a little of that on one of my ribbons, knew it was off, thought I could get away with it, and it almost worked, until it didn't, I was half a row off on the outline which wasn't' really noticeable until I had to fill it in. You do not need a list, deadlines take the fun out of things, both of out year long goals worked beautifully.
ReplyDeleteYou got organized and finished many things, and I actually did make quite a few small things. Now onto the year of TW.
Yes ma'am!!! The urge to accomplish everything that pops into my head and to make a list is STRONG ha ha! It is AMAZING how many projects YOU finished this year BRAVO!!!
DeleteI think if it had been me i would have had a full scale meltdown !! probably set fire to something...guess thats why I'm not a natural cross stitcher, I just don't have the reserves of zen like patience needed for moments like this.
ReplyDeleteI deeply admire how you are just taking it in your stride and redoing it.
Tee hee, normally I do exactly as you would :D Thank you for your admiration, I accept it and hope that it will remind me next time it happens to STAY CALM :D
Delete"EEK!" I feel your pain.
ReplyDeletehaha!
DeleteYikes! This is how UFO's are created in my house! Good job on keeping going with this - I admire your tenacity!
ReplyDeleteI finished the tree and then was distracted by glitter and beads, so the tombstone didn't get done. Tonight I will be back to stitching the rest of the piece :D
DeleteooOOoo Shiny!!! :D Cool - I can't wait for the next update :D
DeleteI'm thinking I'll post again on Monday, unless I get a major portion done Saturday or Sunday and am just too excited to NOT share ha ha!
