Halloween SAL with Leonore and The Gang


I've been back from the family reunion for a week now and have so much to say about that, but before I start going on and on and on about that, this little bit o' fun!


Leonore wanted to do a Halloween SAL using The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery's Halloween Spooky Sampler.  Leonore, Nancy and I are going to stitch a square per week starting next week.  The rest of the girls are going to stitch whatever they choose AND SO CAN YOU!

Just pick something you have in your stash OR you can grab the pattern we are stitching up and stitch along with us!  One block or section per week for nine weeks and we will be done with time to spare.

Let us know if you are joining in the funzies so when we are done we can put up a blog posting with everyone's blog address and have a fun little blog hop at the end.

    Yay!! My fabric should be in tomorrow or the day after so I'll be ready :D As you know (but not everyone else might I'm starting with the Wizard owl from the Just Cross stitch Halloween special of this year and then moving on to the crow on a pumpkin from page 80 once I've finished - if there is time left or not ;)

    Yay I've got the fabric ready and all the colours accounted for (some of them are still with Cindy) and I'm raring to go

      AWESOME! I'm so excited and Leonore really had a great idea on this one! We should also pick a start date for Lion King and figure out how many blocks a week or row or whatever to do so we can do that at the same time next year :D

      We really need to do some hard thinking on the Lion King...it's a huge project, and we each tackle this kind of project so very differently! I hope we'll find a way to make it work, but if not we will just have to find more fun small projects to SAL on instead ^_^

      Perhaps do it as a once a week thing? If you all agree to work on it say every Sunday (and catch up another day if Sunday is busy) then you would still be working on it together and have plenty of time and space for other projects, though it would take ages to complete.

      Well my Sundays are for Merida at present, but one day a week for a couple hours is a good idea :D Leonore is right, we need to hash that one out. I'm also going to be working on my square for the Crossing the Delaware, so it's going to be interesting to see how I manage for 2016.

      Sure, sounds like a fun plan :) We can always try that, and if it doesn't work out, try another plan, and if THAT doesn't work either, we can still give up SALing, but we won't let anyone say we didn't at least try :D

      Also on Pumpkin, does the square per week include the outer border or do we do that first, or last?

      ah! I was thinking the border is included? Let us ask the Lovely Leonore since she is in charge of our stitching efforts :D

      I would leave the border to everyone as they wish. You can do the part of border surounding your square each week, or leave it all for last, or stitch on the border when you just CAN'T for next weeks block to continue stitching, or just whenever you feel like it :D

      Other question is, do we start in the middle or top left or somewhere else? I can work with both (ar most other options), so any preferences? :D

      I tend to start top right, but that's because I stitch backward to most, Do we worry about being on the same block or just have it one block a week of wherever.

      Yes! I was thinking about starting in the middle as well since the linen I'm using is a bit of a pain to stitch on :D

      Write each letter on a bit of paper - and pull a new one each week. No difficult choices and an element of adventure :D

    Great idea. I don't have this chart but I am stitching the Hallowe'en Cubes from Primitive Hare, may I join in your final blog hop with those?
