IHSW Hangout

Usually when International Hermit Stitch Weekend hits, we girlies have what is called the "Saturday Hangout" so we can all video chat.  We did it Saturday, but then again today and I'll be opening it up
again tomorrow since I do have the day off and can get some face time with our missing girl (she was in Texas) and maybe our other missing girl (who is in Germany) and maybe some voice from our other girl in Arizona.  I hope!

I did stitch quite a bit but Saturday seemed to be the day for ripping.  It went something like this, "I think I will now stitch with this color" Stitching, stitch, stitch, more stitching....all done....oh, darn!  I used the wrong color! RIP, RIP, RIP!

That happened three times.

Today, instead of doing that ripping stuff, I decided that I would do a Sunday Start and work on the Ornaments of the month pattern that Magical has up on our website for NCCIH.  I found a nice scrap of 28 ct Monaco lurking in my fabric stash, pulled the three colors of floss and began creating the cutest and smallest thing I could create....that part was all accidental, but so cute!

If you have a floss bobbin handy, just put that in the palm of your hand and you will see what the actual size is for this cute little thing.

I couldn't stop giggling it was so darn cute! 2 over 1 for the cross stitching, 1 strand for the blackwork and there you have it!

My thought is to make a garland as suggested by Magical but I wanted it to be tiny...and so it is.

Another successful tiny finish for this month and I do believe I have 3 of the five goals for this month completed.  How can I make this month better?  Maybe two more finishes....maybe.

Look at the date!  Still two whole weeks left in January!  This five goal thing is really quite wonderful.  And now that I feel entirely too full of myself, I shall get back to stitching (and possibly ripping more) on Skeleton Crew.  It doesn't matter if I have to keep ripping a bit here and there, it is still a wonderful project, so happily I go!

Until next time!

    1. I'm still not sure which part of this weekend was more fun! And I'm still thrilled with my January gem.....now about that dang ripping...here is my theory: The Skeleton Crew is a pirate ship and everyone on board is either a skeleton or a ghost, so MAYBE it's cursed?

  2. I hate it when a pattern fight back! putting it aside is a good idea at such times.

That ornament is so cute! You did a wonderful job :D By doing your own finish you did exactly what I'd hoped for when I designed these - that people would take the pattern and make it theirs :D

You are doing so well with the ToT! keep going!

  10. It looks like you had tons of fun for your hang out, and congrats on hitting so many goals (even if you might have had to steer around some amphibians to do it).
