TUSAL for May!

Well it's time again for the ORT Report, ha ha!  The pile is from Vinnie Stretch and Flowers for You (aka Flowers for Nancy).  The crack in my jar is from a fall when I was rearranging the NCC in preparation for the summer layoff and that crack makes me sad.

Never fear, there is always Sapphire Gin available for drinking, but it sure takes me awhile to get through a bottle.  AH! Speaking of which, I am almost done with another bottle which can be made into an ORT jar as promised for Magical.  I'm not going to use this one for me since I had promised her and the cracks in this one just happened.  I could always try cutting this one down a bit and see how that works.

Update on the Flowers for Nancy.  I started the stitching for the Cat and in the middle of the last episode of season 2 of Longmire, I realized I may have to rip and rip and rip....I'm not sure yet, I didn't want to look at it too closely, but I'm afraid I may have counted incorrectly and the bottom greens and the flower may have to be redone.  More sadness, but the rest of it looks hella good....wait a second.....

So I was just looking at it AGAIN, and noticed I stitched the 415 (light grey) incorrectly and there isn't a mistake. DUH.  That's what I get for watching Longmire while I stitch...not a good plan in case you haven't tried it.  I really love that show and get seriously involved.

While the incorrect stitching is happening and after I finished season two of  Longmire, I also received a welcome phone call today from Retirement and Benefits offering me a job.  By this time I was just starting Season One of Justified (Mr. Olyphant sure is pretty).

I think I threw off my new supervisor by answering the phone "Good Morning" instead of "hello" ha ha!  At least I didn't answer "Thank you for calling the Dancing Pony and continual soiree." (From Longmire and Lou Diamond Phillips is hilarious, and I love his character Henry).  Anywho, answered "Good Morning" and when she asked me what I was up to I said "Cross Stitch and Justified" and she laughed.

Scream with glee my good friends, I did.  It's a permanent job and not seasonal which is good.  The position is in the Survivor Benefits section so my job will be to assist the loved ones of state workers who have passed away.  It may sound strange, but I like it.  I'm really glad they chose me for that position rather than the processing position. I start on Monday.  Tomorrow I go into my old office to pick up the last of my desk thingies and say goodbye to my people......my people who will be sad, but only until I show them the donuts I am bringing to soften the blow tee hee.  Actually, I'd better bring fruit, it's better for them and I haven't been there to fill the fruit bowl....yep fruit it is.

So there you have it! May TUSAL, little bit o' Longmire, some Justified, and a permanent job!  May has been very good to me, I do hope it has been good to you as well.

Until Next time....Happy Stitching!

  1. The unreasonable part of me keeps thinking 'Meh, there go such many many stitchy-bloggy-updates I was looking forward to', but thankfully most of me is rather reasonable and really happy for you for finding another job so quickly ^_^

Also, beatiful progress on Nancy's flowers, and yay for only a little ripping instead of a lot!

  2. I like the unreasonable part of you because I too was looking forward to getting some things done this summer. It's alright, I really need the paycheck and did get quite a bit done here at the NCC in preparation for my Etsy store, buying office supplies and crochet supplies for the Chickie Bags and a new soft handled crochet hook so I can work more on them without cramping up.

I did have high hopes for getting some of the current WIPS out of the way sooner and make all projects TW for the rest of the year but one never knows, I may get to that point soon enough :D

  5. Jim Beaver (mine!!!) is in an episode of Longmire, and he's in Justified too I think. I've watched Longmire periodically cause I love Lou Diamond Phillips and Katee Sakoff. I do have to sit down and watch the whole thing at some point.
Glad the ripping is only a little not a lot
