The Interview and a WIP update

Well, today was the day for the job interview.  I have co-worker's who have had one or two job interviews at other jobs already and here I had to wait over a week to get mine in.

They asked questions, my mind went blank.  I rambled on incoherently.......and then they asked me how my co-workers would describe me......

.....and I started laughing!  Do you think that is okay?  Or inappropriate to laugh?  They don't know me so in a way the joke's on them, however, I did manage to compose myself long enough to answer, but am still worried that by laughing I might have done some harm there....or maybe it was the rambling....

It's done now and the waiting for a response shouldn't be so bad.  In the meantime I've been asked to work in a different office next week to assist in some catch up work which is AWESOME.  I get to see all my people and won't that be fun!

Little Travel Case has proven to be a really fun idea for my lunch time.  I might get to stitch for 20 minutes if I'm lucky and it may not seem like very much stitching, but I'm pleased with the progress so far.

Panda Delight WIP
I was thinking, as I was backstitching, that I really don't care much for kits, but at the same time the all inclusive part is nice.  With Dimensions, the pictures that are put on the package are always more colorful than what you are stitching and that may be why I don't appreciate them like I probably should.

When you give your interviewer your certified typing test is is okay to explain why you only have 54 WPM instead of your usual 65?  Gosh I hope they didn't take that badly!  There had been a birthday party going on and the job center people told me I wasn't invited.....and yet there I was trying to type and smelling food and cake!!!  So mean!

Tomorrow after I clean up the house a bit, and get the NCC a little more under control, I'm going to stitch up the Partridge in a Pear Tree from Day 1 of 12 Days.  I have done zero stitching on Day 1 since the last time I blogged and that is mainly due to the agitation of the impending interview.  I haven't slept well all week.  I'm thinking I might sleep really well tonight and that will be wonderful and invigorating and stitching can continue.

When you are being interviewed and are asked how you handle stressful moments with co-workers in the workplace is it appropriate to vomit out a partial story and then quietly trail off at the end without actually answering the question?  It made perfect sense to me..........."There was this one time my supervisor and I had a meeting in the conference room about this..........thing................and stuff...............well.....as it turns out, I had the backup documents on my.....................................................computer and I gave it to her."

Maybe if I go to sleep I'll stop thinking about my botched job of it.  You all know it is NOT like me to be such a bumbling idjut.  Yep, better wander to bed before I share MORE of the interview and continue worrying about it.

More stitchy updates this weekend....in the meantime KEEP ON STITCHING MY PEOPLE!

  1. It would depend on the type of laugh, I mean it's fine if the laugh says, my co-workers make me so happy I want to laugh with joy, but if it was an I want to kill them all with a very sharp sword, you might be in trouble. But I'm sure they are used to people being a little nervous and you actually did far better than you thought. Still crossing my toes for you. Now get stitching and relax.

    3. No fairies visit my house when there is a pile to do....I am starting to think they are the ones that create the piles!!

    4. That would explain a lot, I know I don't use that many dishes, but they are always dirty

  2. I like kits because everything comes in them - which is why I don't have much in the way of a stash as far as fabric but yeah, sometimes the pictures are sooo much brighter than the actual project.

Panda looks good so far, can you post a pic of what it should look like finished?

    1. I think it's just Dimensions that does the bolder shots but figuring out the colors has ALWAYS been an issue for me ha ha! I did post a shot of Panda Delight http://scealteach.blogspot.com/2014/03/new-wips.html so everyone could see the new WIP :D I'm thinking what I need to do is the conversion from the Dimensions colors to DMC number so I have a better grasp of what I'm looking for since I'm an idjut sometimes. ha ha!

    2. Haha so you did. Must have forgotten that. :) I've never converted Dimensions to DMC although I have the chart to do so.
