Story of THEY and the end of March IHSW

How do I tell the story of this cute little cross stitch project coherently?  Not sure it's possible.  It has to do with where I work and to sit here and write all day long about the things you would need to know to make this joke comprehensible would then render the joke no longer funny.  I will try to give you some clarity. Even at the end, if you still don't understand (and you won't) and still don't see anything funny about it (and you will not it's guaranteed), just appreciate those adorable butterflies and flowers and pretty colors.  Cross stitch glitter if you will.

Naturally the part you will understand is THEY.  Who are THEY?  Why are THEY always messing with your life in what seem to be cruel and ridiculous ways just when you really think THEY shouldn't? And yet, THEY do every time.

THEY, Finished march 23, 2014
That would be the THEY portion of this "joke" project.  The second part is actually about a white button. Now that I think about it, I cannot explain the white button without breaking three or more confidentiality regulations, but know this:  If your button is "any color other than white, then you are doing it wrong."  This is according to another co-worker who truly, and quite firmly, believes your button should always be white.  It's not really true.  Your button can be green, or blue, or black....it just doesn't have to be white.  It just should NOT be red. Ever.

That is actually funny right there.  I was going to have a friend of mind frame this, but buried in my box of "found" frames was this one and it fit perfectly.

So it is officially done and done, so to speak, and I can really sit here and say I have had two finishes in one weekend and REALLY feel good about things.  I'm almost beside myself!

Next up are the first three...wait, FOUR of the 12 Days of Christmas since April is right around the corner and then back to the rota.  The nerdy expando-file is getting emptier now which is REALLY exciting.  The Little Travel Case is ready to ride to work tomorrow and I get to go to bed early tonight!

I hope everyone's weekend was fantastic!  Until next time....happy finishes!

  1. Wait, you finished two things in 24 hours? So jealous.
What about a chartreuse button, can I do that?
Also, love the butterflies and flowers and buttons.

  2. Explaining inside jokes is never easy, but this sure sounds funny! Also I'm a little confused about a button changing colour. Are we talking about a physical button her or just one on the screen? :D

    1. hah, it is a virtual button, more like a bullet point or green light type thing when you are doing something right and yes it's online. I think I can do some screen shots of the different buttons so others can see what I mean...should have thought of that before!

    2. Oh, I see. I was just concerned that if an actual physical button was chaning it's colour, you probably ARE doing something wrong ^.~

    1. Thank you, thank you! It was one thing to get SKULL done, but to sit down Sunday evening and finish THEY was a really big deal to me. I haven't been feeling "successful" in the cross stitch arena lately and now I'm feeling VERY successful....so successful I started the first day of 12 Days last night and they are going to be so gorgeous!
