March Stitch From Stash Update

It's true, at the beginning of this Stitch from Stash journey I completely freaked out.  Panic set in.  A small, evil part of me spitefully took over and forced me to spend, spend, spend.  January I spent $71.59, however $40 was taken off because of SKULL (thank goodness), but that still left me with of $31.59.

Gads, now we are into February.  I was almost shamed into no spending and then the Splurge day hit and I did alright there.  I had $100 that I could go nutty on and didn't. I only spent $39.65.......at first.  AFTER the Splurge day left, I was going through my coming up projects and thought I should "research" the fabrics and such that I would need to complete the patterns on hand.  That led to a hideous $62.39 expenditure.  The best part of that is my TW Stitchers will benefit from the $1.29 I spent on beads.  You may not think that is great but I'll tell you when I got the beads I realized I already had a monster baggie of them so why not share?

Where was I?  Oh yes, so $31.59 - $25.00 = $6.59 carryover into February.  $62.39 + $6.59 = $68.98 - $25.00 = $43.98 carryover into March.  March expenditure was $0.00. $43.98 - $25.00 = $18.98 carryover for April.  IF I can be good, I will have a + $6.50 credit for  April.  I hope I have all this math right.  I'm pretty sure Mel will tell me.

In the meantime, the job hunt is progressing nicely.  Tomorrow is Job Fair, so that will be nice.  I know I have two months until I'm laid off, but getting busy right now should work in my favor....or at least I'd like to think so.  I'm worried about some of my co-workers more than myself, but if they stay motivated they should be alright.  I really hope so.

So between applying for jobs, there is STITCHING.  That eternal Happy Place.  Please join me there!

Until next time....just keep stitching, just keep stitching....

  1. You did better then me in March, and you are resisting!!!!! And I may not be, that tractor pattern is calling my name, and I should instead be looking for a freebie that I can adapt. But you did AWESOME this month.

  2. Good luck at the job fair! Tell them your good at math.... My eternal happy place is playing my fiddle. My new hobby is Postcrossing - sending postcards around the world to people I don't know. Think of it as a Peace initiative. I have already sent two postcards to the Russian Federation and one to Ukraine! I am helping out Obama wherever I can -including nagging my 30 year old son to sign up for healthcare insurance. You have me to thank Obama!

    1. Stitch From Stash is where you do your cross stitch with what you actually have stashed at home and NOT go forth and spend gobs of money on unnecessary items.....like a fancy needle threader.....ehem....or fabric you loved but don't have any projects for. I'm doing better now HONEST!!

  4. My favorite job search tip site is careerrealism.com. They have a great video on informational interviewing. I got my current job through an informational interview.
