End of the Funk?

Talk about pure TORTURE!!  Usually when I am bogged down by a case of S.A.D. it's mild and only lasts maybe a week.  This junk came on sudden and hard and hammered my mind into less than nothing.  I'm pushing as hard as I can and feel a little better.  Treadmill, Wii bowling and a fast day at work.  Let's hope this trend continues to where I'm back on top again.

It has been so nice to know that my people were there waiting on the sidelines in case I fell beyond the bottom of the pit of despair so they could throw a rope and pull me back up.  Usually that's my job, but it wasn't hard to say "Hey, I'm seriously down and I need space but if I need you I know you will be there." And there my girls ARE.  Thank you.

This past weekend I set some "work on it" goals and managed to do exactly that.  Dr. Who Shada Scarf (going into it's second year now) was worked on and as much as I tried to REVENGE KNIT, who can really be into REVENGE when it comes to Dr. Who?  A large chunk was knitted, however and THAT is awesome.

It is GIGANTIC so I rolled it up to take this shot.  I have less than 1/3rd left to do and it's exciting to know that, but then this is the part where I get all stupid about "Why can't it be done already???"

So close!  It's alright, I don't feel that way now, but I sure did on Saturday while I was knitting away.  It started out as "Why are there 56 rows of F-ing GREEN??"  Once past that section it went much faster, but then Season 2 of Survivor was over so I switched over to the Large Chickie Bag to do a little crochet.

I can't remember who it was on dA who suggested I make a really big Chickie Bag, but I liked the idea and figured since the FUNK was here I'd give it a try.  What I have done so far would technically be the equivalent of two Chickie Bags which are usually about 6" x 6" and made for small folk who go crazy for them.  The large version is definitely a challenge and I'm seriously curious how many balls of yarn it will use.  So far it's about 1/3rd finished.  Used a left over ball to make a pocket for the inside.  I think I need one more pocket.

I haven't worked on SKULL since, hmmmm, whenever that was, but I did manage to get about 20 stitches in on Saturday just so I can say I worked on it this weekend.  This too is ALMOST done and dang it I really am at that point with this where I'm wondering if it will ever end?!  I love it and cannot wait to share the progression video, but blast it all!  ha, ha!

Yes, I watched Excalibur a few more times (last night as a matter of fact) and will probably watch it again before I'm "cured".  Watched a few Disney movies, some really awful 80's movie which will not be named (for example Tuff Turf...please don't watch it. If you aren't depressed when you start you will be by the end it's that bad ha ha!), but then watched a pretty good movie I can't remember the name of, another Disney movie and now you are up to current on that.

I really want to start crossing stuff off of my list, so I'd better be finished with the Funk.  The Funk that is so Funkular it's too Funky to compare.

I hope you all are doing well and STITCHING!!

Until next time....avoid the Funk my friends...and Happy Stitching <3 p="">

  1. The sun shone here all day I was mentally willing the beams up to you. That scarf is amazing, and there has never been a rush on it, Mom still knows nothing about it, so the surprise of it will always be intact.
My first though of the big Chicky bag is: Would a tablet or baby laptop fit in it, cause that would be cool.
You are going to make me have to borrow Excalibur from my brother, haven't watched it in years. probably not even in this millennium, but I'm watching the BBC's Merlin so that might count for something.
    Also, skull is perfect.

    1. I figured it would still be a surprise since you are VERY good at keeping things down below the low and all that gansta stuff har har har! The big Chickie bag IS big enough for an iPad or a small laptop, it will even carry a portable DVD player comfortably :D You MUST watch Excalibur :)

    2. That means that it is the worlds best Chickie bag. I know I should watch, but I've barely started my movie project and Excalibur isn't on it, Borrowed movies don't count. Of course that means I could watch it anytime and not wait for the E's hmmmmmm Brother borrowing might come soon, he has A Dance with Dragons to lend me as well. Sun is still shining, so I'm winging the beams up to you. Enjoy.

    3. The beam winging worked and today we had beautiful blue skies with fluffy clouds and it was warm and I have Laphroaig and.......I'm thinking if you borrow from your brother you can interrupt your alphabetical movie watching because it is borrowed :D

    4. I think that would work I'm not doing alphabetized from Netflix after all, I'm just hitting random things. Wait is Excaliber on Netflix? Nope, but it did recommend Merlin, so I'm on the right path.

  2. It's really good so see you're recovering from your funk, and I like how you even made some use of it be getting some knitting an crocheting done :) Looks like some finishes are about to happen if you can keep this up, if that's not going to brighten your mood, what else?

    1. Yes ma'am! So far so good and today is even better than yesterday and tomorrow will be even better than today :D I think the small "work on it" goals really helped as well, but I can definitely say the treadmill is the ultimate!
