It's....a SKULL

In order to keep the cost of this particular project off "the books" of Stitch From Stash, I am required to stitch start to finish immediately as this is a gift.  This is a skull pattern from UnconventionalX or it can be found at the Etsy shop ffrom Austitch or Unconventional X Stitch, same person, she just changed her name.

Today is just an update on work that has been done this weekend, since I had a three day weekend and felt too awful to do much else (oh darn all I felt like doing was cross stitch).

It is stitching up really fast, the only part I haven't enjoyed are all the confetti stitches (I used to call them popcorn until Magical explained they are called confetti).

By the time this one is done I should have my 30" inch bars for my scroll frame and ECS will go on and I can continue onward with that.

I still want to get all of my little things about of the way just so I can focus completely on the ECS since it is my first BAP, but I like the rotation.  Once this is done I'll try and get back into it.  I seriously don't understand why it's so difficult for me to do a rotation.  It's fun, I'm always working on something new, but at the same time I feel like I'm spinning my wheels and not finishing anything.  I WANT RESULTS!! (shaking fist here)  Maybe over time I will be able to work it out, you know, like when everything on my rotation is a TW design!!

For now, we have SKULL and it is awesome and will give me the feeling of RESULTS I so desperately need.

Until next time.....happy stitching!

  1. This one is flat out cool, Jody has put together a wonderful selection of stuff, and the name change was a smart move, it really describes her product well, there are at least 3 must haves in her gallery, that I'm not yet allowing myself. You know why, you've seen my list.
I've done virtually nothing this week, ended up working 10 of the last 11 days, so it's all been work, sleep, and Olympics, if it wasn't for Jeopardy I wouldn't have touched the stitching at all

    1. As it turns out, Jody went and put three more skull patterns on her website!! But you know I have so much to do now so maybe later as those would also just be gifts for said friend/co-worker.

I am sorry to hear that you have done nothing but work and work and sleep, not sorry about the Olympics and it is a valid reason for not stitching...you have to WATCH and that's why I'm having so many issues watching curling and stitching :D. Question for you....do you think the 2014 Olympics will be on DVD?

    2. NBC often puts outs a set, just recaps I think, heavily american which is why I never bothered. Last Olympics the Canadian network (CTV or CBC I can't remember which) put out an amazing set that I got, but that was mainly because it was in Vancouver. So this long explanation comes down to I don't know.

  2. Uh, this skull is starting to look truely gruesome, which I suppose is a good thing in a case like this...

I do know what you mean about needing results, that's why I like to 'portion' my bigger designs, into pages or PT's bordersections, and concentrate on one at a time, so it always feels like I acoomplished something ^_^

Oh, and what I already wanted to ask last time - is there any definition of how big exactly something has to be in order to count at BAP? Judging by me feeling, I got a few of these plannend and/or going...xD

    1. The best way to tell a pattern is a BAP is to go shopping with me, If I go - " Ohhhh I want that" it is undoubtedly a BAP

    2. Nancy is correct on the BAP and her idea of "a good time stitching"....she's crazy!! Your PT is a smaller BAP. My ECS is BAP, and any pattern larger than 200wx200h I personally would consider BAP material. If you look at some of the HAED, well those are without a doubt BAP, unless you get a mini. I hope this helps?

    3. Okay, I think I get it ^_^ PT only has 20 stitches length and heigth on ECS though...and this thing I ordered for splurge weekend is about 280x210, so I guess I've safely arrived there too xD

  3. Coming along nicely. ^_^ I picked a set of longer parts for my q-snap which I'm going to use on my R&J when I start that. I think that project is one that I'm going to try parking my threads since it looks like there is a lot of different colors. We'll see.

Can't wait to see this finished. :) I'm sure your friend will love it.

    1. OH!! I keep forgetting to tell you about the "grime guard" you can make for your Q-snap! http://www.123stitch.com/item/Amys-Sewing-and-Cross-Stitch-11x11-Grime-Gard-Qsnap-Cover/GG04 and there is a little place on Etsy that sells them as well.

Anywho, I have the giant sized Q-snap but using that with ECS was so awkward I went back to the hoop, but that was annoying and I have to fix the linen every time I remove the hoop (it's just a matter of putting the threads back in line.....naughty weave!!) so hopefully my rods will come in and I can use my lapstand comfortably. If I can remember, I'll pack up the floor stand for you and I pray it works wonderfully for you. It will hold a Q-snap but you must get creative just a little, but I think between you and Thomas it might turn out perfectly.

    2. Knowing Thomas and myself we can get something to work. I saw a lap-stand thing that I could purchase for my q-snap so I night do that if needed. I've used old socks before I haven't had any issues yet with my q-snap and getting fabric dirty.

  4. It's looking great - and you did so much!

    Good job there! :D

I can understand wanting results - I too split it into sections to make me feel like I'm getting places - for the mushrooms I did a grid of 4 x 4 blocks of 10 stitches (just like charts have them) and each section completed is another moment to go YAY!! and sit back and admire how it's looking.

    1. That's why it looks like you are moving right along! I never thought of that. I'll have to try that with one or both of my HAEDs when I start those, but I don't think they are big enough to warrant that, we shall see. I will write that down in my stitcher diary so I don't forget to try that :D THANK YOU!
