Well, 8 hrs and 12 minutes into my English Cottage Sampler and I have to say everything hurts. The piece is so huge I'm not sure how to stitch it. I was wrong about the song on this being similar to Vinnie Stretch! Same designer or not, definitely a different song.
Yes, the number on the measuring tape there says it is a trillion inches long. Fine, it's technically 200w x 300h (in stitches for those aliens out there who don't understand the stitcher language) and so far I have never stitched something this large.
I do not own a scroll frame wide enough to accommodate the fabric. My longest bar is 16" which is the exact width of the pattern but I need another six inches for the edges.
So I struggled with my Qsnap and ended up just laying it there and hanging an edge out to stitch that way but now my neck is broken from being stuck in that chin-touch-chest position, ha, ha.
On a much brighter note, I was able to get two very lovely sized pieces of extra fabric out of this deal and you know that pieces this large can be used for many things....so many things.....
I did not get my interview in YET, so don't think I've forgotten. This weekend was busier than anticipated with a birthday dinner for Michael at Leah's house (her ribs are to die for) and phone calls, then the struggle with the over-sized fabric. That's all I had time for!
This is where I am at now and in 1 hour and 48 minutes I will be working on the next project in my rotation. Yes, I'm struggling with the rotation a little. I want to finish Vinnie Stretch, but I want to work on ECS!! Then I see Celtic Goddess peeking out and I want to work on her.
This rotational thing may end badly, but I am going to push on with it. Besides, you really don't know if something will work or not unless you give it actual time. If it's still not working for me at the end of February, then I will stop doing it. I can still see how it would be a good idea, so there is still hope. Keep your fingers cross for me!
Until next time.....
