Leaflet Project 1 Segment 6

42 hours of pure cross stitching bliss.  That is what Joys of My Garden has given me.  This piece is the name of the Leaflet itself, but is the largest of the vased blooms.  Two pieces left and this leaflet will be complete.

I do believe that I might have two leaflets that only have one pattern to them, the rest are multiple patterns per leaflet.  When I started the 2013 Leaflet Project I knew there wasn't going to be many of them getting done, which means I will have to extend my Leaflet Project to 2014, or just change the name of the project to suit the new year.  Suggestions are always good.

Honestly, I never thought I would be distracted so much and so often by other stitching projects, but I'll whine about that during the last blog of 2013 when I complete the 2013 Leaflet Project and prepare to launch whatever is coming, ha, ha. Now that I think about it, I do have the entire collection of Endangered Young'uns to stitch.....

It is Labor Day Weekend and next up on the list is Garden Visitor.  Garden Visitor is similar to Idle Flight so it shouldn't take long and since I have a three day weekend I don't see any reason why it won't get done....such an optimist!!  But I really think that with the help of audio books, I can get anything stitched in no time!  Two David Eddings series were recommended to me by Magical, so I have been listening to The Belgariad Series and it is FUN!  This is how I found out that I can "check out" audio books from my library online and listen to them that way.  I'm ashamed of myself for not knowing this years ago.  Thankfully, this problem has been solved.  You see, I love to read, but I love to stitch and one cannot stitch and hold a book or Kindle at the same time, so audio books are BRILLIANT.  I get lost in time, which may not make sense to you so here is a perfect example:

Saturday morning I began stitching at 7:00 am while listening to Tick Tock by Dean R Koontz.  I stopped stitching at 7:00 am Sunday morning. I had finished all but leaves and backstitching in that time period. I had no idea what time it was until I noticed it was getting light out again.

I did take pictures as I went and will make another progression video.  Those sure are fun to watch, ha, ha.

So now I'm off to stitch up Garden Visitor and may be posting again sometime on Monday!

Until next time.....

  1. Good luck on your stitching weekend, though if the weather is nice, I foresee you being distracted by creeks (which is a wonderful thing). I have to stop distracting myself, and make a cushing, oh and also tear down a Basilica

  2. Fortunately it is raining and raining and raining and raining. I will be done with the next one by Monday afternoon for sure :D I'm sad for your Basilica, it was very nice, however now you can pretend you are an angry god and sweep it away hahahahahaha!

  3. It's really lovely you know - despite the pink heheh. It's so easy to underestimate how long something will take that looks "easy" Life has a way of restricting the hours you have and sometimes that "easy" pattern is a devil to do in the end. and yes the side projects also get in the way but on the other hand they keep you stitching when the main project is a bit more for you.

I am so glad to hear you are enjoying the Belgariad books! I loved them and completely cast aside stitching in favour of reading lol.

I love those days where you are lost in stitching and listening to something enjoyable and time becomes completely unimportant :d :)

  4. :D YES!! Sadly, last night I ended up cleaning the kitchen thoroughly. So today I am going to finish the next pattern and get the last one ready for stitching :D I might take Dr Who Scarf with me to work again and work on it during breaks and lunch which is what I did before.....But I do need to get it done in a serious way :D

The Belgariad....how do I thank thee for the recommendation? I spent alot of time laughing. I'm wondering if The Malloreon Series is just as good? I will be finding out this week :D Time to get lost again....
