Leaflet Project 1 Segment 2

This leaflet is going pretty quickly so far and is a nice break from Project 2.  The first picture is Pink Climber and was one I had thought I wouldn't do but then thought it would be a nice lid cover for a canning jar.  I used a piece of hand dyed linen which I will also be using for the Little Things pattern as well.
It was really quick and easy and I think it took about three hours to stitch.

One of these days I might actually time the patterns, but for now I'm going to sit here being very pleased with the end result. It is 2 1/2 inches tall and 2 inches wide.

I'm just grateful there weren't a bunch of  French Knots in it like the Pewter Blue!

I didn't use the pink linen napkins for this tiny piece because I have just enough to do the larger patterns in this leaflet.

Pewter Blue came out as 5 1/2 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall which means that three of the other patterns will be about the same size.  Good to know when planning on frames and such later on.

Joys of My Garden Leaflet 478 Book Two 1986

Patterns included in this leaflet are:

Pink Climber (Done)
Pewter Blue (Done)
Idle Flight (Being worked on now)

The remaining patterns are:

Smell the Blossoms
Joys of My Garden
Garden Visitor
Edged with Eyelet
Little Things (which will be stitched on the hand dyed linen the Pink Climber was stitched on)

Until next time.....

  1. I am loving this project of yours. Can't wait to see the rest of them, and at some point do them myself.

    2. I think these are the ones you already sent me, yes? Or are there even more of them. And please talk me out of the fractal one, it keeps yelling at me and I'm about to give in.

    3. I cannot talk you out of anything only IN to everything, therefore you will give in and do the fractal pattern and NO I have not sent you these patterns yet because I have not scanned them yet :D Strangely I don't even feel terrible about pushing you in the "right" direction!

    4. Then these wouldn't be the flowers you already sent me, I can always use more flowers. Getting close to finishing my competition piece, then I'll be back to another biscornu. And yes I will give into the fractal, though god know when I'll get around to doing it. They also have this marvelous and expensive fabric there that would work perfectly with an angel pattern I have, so tempting. I'm hoping for a sale.

    5. I cannot wait to see the end result of the competition piece! Now what kind of fabric are you going to use for the fractal piece? It has that black background, so will you go with that or find something fun?

    1. I wasn't too keen on the pinks either, but these patterns are looking really good. I prefer to read the DMC color chart and see names like "salmon" or "coral" or even "Terra cotta", so I'm wondering if it's just the word "pink" that bugs me? Must give it more thought. In the meantime, I really am enjoying this leaflet!
