Project 1 Segment 8 THE BIG FINISH!

I was able to sit upright yesterday and part of today (there was uncontrollable vomiting, an ambulance, a brief stay at hospital due to the flu) and did the backstitching  to finish Project 1.  My personal opinion is that it is a little messy, but when my daughter got a look at it she was thrilled.  My daughter is NEVER thrilled.  If this made her eyes pop open and positive exclamations fly free from her lips then it must be a pretty finish.

I'm satisfied and glad to be done with it.  You all know what a struggle this piece was and NOT because of the stitching, just the emotional aspect.  I almost feel like crying, oh! Too late!!!  There is crying!  Hang on a moment while I pull myself together.....

While finishing this, I was contemplating what I could make for the Hearts O'Plunder Contest with the Stitching Pirates on dA.  Funny thing about "contemplating", it lead me to want to combine pieces of patterns from three different magazines.  I do that quite often.  One example is from my September 7, 2009 blog showing the bookmark I had made by combining two pieces of pattern to make that pretty little thing.

Yes, this is a "side project" and will not be posted as a PROJECT but side project b.  Side project a was the  little card I'm sending to my Grandma.

You are probably curious about PROJECT 2......I know what it is and it's lovely.  You will find a posting about that this weekend I expect.  For now, I must iron some things, pull out some floss and figure out how I'm combining the three patterns together....I have MAD ideas!

Until next time.......

  1. Oh goodness! I didn't realise you were *that* ill! No wonder you were feeling out of sorts about stuff.

I have to agree with your daughter - it looks amazing! Hopefully finishing this will have helped you resolve your feelings about the stuff that was going on at the time you started it :)

I can't wait to see what your combined pattern looks like in the flesh (as it were) and I can't wait to find out what's next for your leaflet project!

    1. haha, I'm still unsure about those feelings, but the out of sorts part DEFINITELY part of the problem.

I have a friend who will be professionally framing it for me so I can give it to her, I'm thinking something gold, but I'm sure whatever he comes up with will be spectacular!

I'm working on the combined pattern right now and am VERY excited about it......Project 2.....I KNOW everyone will LOVE.

  2. But I wannna know what your next project is, you know mine. Don't know if I'll get to the heart's contest but...... I do have a bookmark pattern somewhere that would work

    1. SILLY WOMAN! I'm going to tell VERY soon! And I would be very surprised if you were able to enter the contest with all that you have going on right now :D Although, when you put your mind to something you get it done.

Your tenacity is probably my FAVORITE thing about to being BRILLIANT, ADVENTUROUS and the list really does go on and on and on and on...................
