Eight Color Contest Segment Ten

Face is filled in!  There are two leaves, a little bit of white in the eyes and cheeks, back stitching, leaves, vines and some spiders to do.

As I have mentioned before, the back stitching does take awhile to do and isn't usually my favorite part of any project.

Sometimes when making something you really should consider whether or not back stitching is actually right for the piece.  If you decide that it is a good idea and will "finish" the piece, it is a good idea to decide if you want to use the colors that are part of the pattern or maybe a darker shade of the the color you are back stitching.

If you just want to see how the piece will look with a different color back stitch, do so carefully.  Ripping out back stitching could end up ripping out your hard work and that just will not do!

With this project I will be doing the back stitching as the pattern calls for.  The only change I will be making is a bat that is supposed to be on the right side of the hat.  I will replace the bat with another dangling spider, or just leave it blank.  There will actually be balance after the leaves are stitched in on the right side so it may not be necessary to do anything.

We are nearing the end of this project and I could not be any  more excited.  I love stitching and this piece is definitely a good reason to start if you don't stitch already.

Until next time.....

    1. Filling in the face definitely took some time! Now I get to do the bits and pieces and back stitching which always takes longer to do (or I'm just impatient) ha ha!
